The decision to enter the practice of law was simple for me. As soon as I came to understand the racial disparities that exist in society, from public education funding to the criminal justice system, I knew I had to do something about it. I also firmly believe that every human being deserves compassion and equal access to justice. For these reasons, I am now a dedicated civil rights lawyer serving clients across Chicago. I welcome you to view my services page to learn more.
You have a choice in who you hire to represent you in your civil rights matter. To help you in making your choice, here are a few values I bring that are somewhat unique in the legal field.
Compassion
When you choose to hire me, you will gain a strong advocate. But you will also gain a friend—someone who cares about the outcome of your case and your future as much as you do.
Dedication
By taking on your case, I am dedicating myself to you completely. I will put all of my resources and skills to work in seeking the best resolution possible.
Faith
My background in faith and experience as a preacher ensure I am service-oriented. I strive every day to help others, seeking to identify, anticipate and then meet the needs of those around me.
In law school, I was a member of an award-winning trial team that was, at the time, ranked third in the nation. Now I use those award-winning skills in courtrooms across Chicago for clients involved in civil rights matters.
Additionally, I care about our youth and want to help shape and train the next generation of lawyers, and other civil servants. Through my innovative Junior Advocacy Program, I show high school students how to be more civically engaged, including working with them to produce a mock trial. This gives students the confidence they need to pursue their dreams while keeping them off the streets. You can read more about the program here.
